Who Is MSC?

Matte Services Corporation was created in July of 1995. After 18 years, Aaron Matte resigned from one of the major labor construction services companies that works along the Gulf Coast. Mr. Matte had worked his way up from field welder to Texas branch manager after stints as construction superintendent and personnel manager. Along the way he graduated from LSU with a degree in safety.

In 1995, Mr. Matte was the only employee for Matte Services and worked in conjunction with his previous employer on a contract basis. In October of 2000, Mr. Matte was approached by a representative of one of the major oil companies to consider branching out with his own personnel to perform welding and maintenance duties for them.

After contacting several other clients with whom he had been doing business over the course of 27 years, the indications were good that this was a feasible opportunity. The impression in the industry was that there was a lot of competition and more than enough companies to do the work that was available, but there were one or two aspects that were lacking in the industry. Quality and Safety.

Mr. Matte has always had a hard work ethic, striving to go above and beyond what was needed to accomplish any task, but also maintaining his integrity and honesty throughout his career. Never one to shy away or not claim a mistake, this attitude transferred to the group of people working with him, thus establishing a group dedicated to providing first-rate service as well as some of the most safety conscious personnel in the oilfield industry. And yet maintaining the same hard work ethic that it takes to survive in the industry.

As of May 2003, Matte Services personnel base has increased three fold, allowing MSC access to qualified personnel to suit any project requirements. This venture allowed us access to an ever expanding skilled labor base as well as being able to better serve our customers on the southeast side of the Gulf.

Matte Services offers a benefits package that rivals some of the industry best and has committed to providing a new first-rate fabrication and blasting facility at our base in Sabine Pass. This facility should be completed sometime in the fall of 2002. Matte Services also has seen the need to improve the training processes for all personnel and has incorporated 100% drug screening for all personnel throughout the year, not based on random selections.

We know that mistakes will be made and we will not shy away from taking responsibility, but our company slogan sums it up. We can honestly say that “Safety is our commitment, quality is our future”.
